Unexpected micro confluence at UK biker rally

I was working at a biker rally in the north east of the UK this weekend (www.storminthecastle.co.uk) and during the sound checks I saw that one of the bands bass players was playing a tastefully modified 4003.

As soon as the sound checks were finished I went across for a chat and imagine my surprise when it turned out to be fellow forum member Steve Lodge (Stevebasshead). We talked for as long as time would allow (no drinks though as I was working).

Steve's band (Diablo) did a stunning set in front of 6,000 bikers in the biggest marquee that you have ever seen.

and a rare one of me working...

Unfortunately we didn't get one of us together.

You're not working, you are thinking:

"Bloody hell, they think I can run this thing?" Image

I'm thinking 'A 48 channel monitor mixer? What the ....?'

And in true Homer style, 'Ooh look at this... lights go up, lights go down' Image

Hi Peter, it was great to meet up and chat, and so out of the blue! It was a pleasure to meet a fellow forumite and Rickenbacker enthusiast. Thank you for posting this, it may have been the smallest possible confluence but it was an unexpected bonus on top of what was a fantastic event.

I had an absolute blast! Thanks again to yourself and all at Stormin' for organising and running one hell of a gig, I wish I'd been able to make the 2nd night to see UFO but we already had a gig further up north.

And yes, that marquee was enormous, what you can see in the photo doesn't really capture it's size. I think it had it's own climate...
