I received an e-mail from my friends with RAIN, one of the tribute bands that will be on the program. Should be a fun show for all of us Beatle fans.

I can't wait to see that, since I play in a Beatles homage band (we don't dress up in the suits and try to impersonate them, we just play the music). We're too old and fat and bald to try to look like them.

I saw a tribute band in Kansas City at the end of April. Which one were they? They were very good. I have to go check now.

Great stuff Kent! Pity he wasn't playing a Rick or even a Gretch! Awesome selection of great early pieces!

Beautiful stuff. This is why I love this forum. As long as people put six strings on a plank of wood these songs will continue to be played. Shame said plank doesn't say Rick or Gretsch but then that would of been perfection.

I happened to see Rain while in Liverpool a few weeks ago for Beatles Week. The did a really good job. At first I thought how familiar a few of them where, then I realized that Joey and Joe had been part of the original Beatlemania line-ups.
Almost like the Broadway production. They happened to be friends of a friend of mine, Bill Stainton. We talked about all the guys in the different bunks of Beatlemania. Joey Curitola seemed to get a kick out of someone remembering alot of the other guys.

I saw RAIN last year twice in Philly. They did an excellent job. I am hoping they'll be coming back around this year so I can share the experience with a few friends that missed them last time.
