Shadow price - opinions needed

I haven't seen the bass in person, but if it's in good condition, do you think $2800 is a fair price for a Shadow?
personally, no.
$2000 would be my max, if that.

For me it would have to be in mint condition for $2800.....and I still think it's a tad high. It's up to how much you want one though.

I would think it is if she is nice, and you like black. Nice thin neck, checkered binding, more rare than a CS, v63 or 75th.
I thought the last ebay sale was $4500. After all it's the JH signature model. It was his weapon of choice as I recall.

Last eBay sale was $5,000 for Shadow # ZK3210 on March 12, 2007. The seller was godzillagonzalez4u and the buyer was lmw55if.
The one before it sold for $3,500 on Oct. 1, 2006.
Based on that, I think $2,800 is a fair price for a clean no-issues Shadow.

I was thinking that $2800 sounded reasonable based on their rarity (50 units?). We haven't seen many come up on Ebay recently which is why I was questioning the value.

As far as I can tell the last one sold on eBay was on 5/22/2007. Much less than $5k...

OK John you're correct, I really should rephrase that. The $5,000 Shadow is the highest I've seen lately, and the $3,500 one is second. There was also a bidding war over a Shadow that reached $7,000 but I don't think money changed hands in the end.
