They sound great & last quite a while, at least as long as any other rounds I've tried.

I do. My 06 4003 still has the factory strings, but I bought another set from the boutique. On the other hand, my 77 4001 is strung with Roto Jazz flats. But, yeah, the Ric strings are top notch.

They're excellent strings but expensive (although they do keep their tone longer than most roundwounds) and they're way too thin for me. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend them.

I buy mine from either RIC or Pick of the Ricks, but usually along with something else, so it depends on who has what in stock at the time.

SOund great, keep their tone a long time, and the D'Addario XL170s are almost the same. Wait, all that's been said! Image

I really like the old Rickenbacker flats (Maximas) - they have a very unique thump sound and are silky smooth to play and also in their sound.

I have used both but put the XLs at number 1 and Ric strings at number 2. The only reason is the D'Addarios seem a little stiffer than the Ric strings.

I have a set on my 78 4001 and they are at least 2 years old maybe older and they still sound good, I think they're perfect for a Ric bass.
