Hi guys! Just wondering if it's still possible to buy pre 2006 hi-gains for a 4003. The Rickenbacker boutique still has pictures up of the pickups with the button top pole pieces, but I suspect they're selling the new ones.

I have a 2004 with a non-functioning bridge pickup and I guess I could replace it with pone of the new adjustable ones, but I'd like to have the pickup that came with it if I could.

It's not a really complicated pickup....you could always have it tested and repaired or rewound. This usually costs $50-60 with shipping. I just got a priceless '61 P-bass pickup (for a customer) back from Lindy Fralin in under 3 weeks and he did a marvelous job.

Thanks guys, but I'm almost certain that a repair is impossible at this point (no offense to Sérgio, who under other circumstances might have been my light and saviour).

Let me make my sad tale of stupidity and short-sightedness as brief as possible: First of all I should be honest and explain that the pickup is actually more than non-functioning, it's missing. I took it out myself about eight months ago (I don't know why I thought that was a good idea) intending that i would try my hand at fixing it (not, of course, that I have any idea what I'm doing).

Of course, like so many other things, I never got around to it. I put it away somewhere safe where I wouldn't lose it, moved house, and haven't seen it since.

Therefore I think that at this point a new pickup is my only option.

...even for that Sérgio might have some help (if he is not totally out of stock)!?

Thanks Sérgio! I need a bridge pickup for a 2004 4003. One of the older, button-topped non-adjustable pole piece types, if you've got one.
