I must appeal to the collective knowledge of the good people here. There is a song stuck in my head and I cannot find the title. From the 40s, I believe, and covered by everyone from Charlie Parker to June Christy to Etta James, it features the tag line 'HOW DEEP IS THE DEEPEST OCEAN, HOW HIGH THE SKY'.

The title and definitive version are what I'm seeking.

Merci beaucoup!

Amazing! Thank you gentlemen.

I am fairly well-versed in the standards but this one was driving me crazy. This afternoon I phoned my lovely grandmother to ask her. She said, "Oh Noel(ie), I haven't thought about that song in decades." Then she sang the entire song.

Wonder if Pat Suzuki covered it. Off to search.
