So, was FOOW ever performed live ?

Post by ram »

In keeping with the spirit of the autographed edition... Does anyone know if any or all of Fish Out of Water was ever performed live by Chris anywhere? Other than the Rickenbacker 75th Anniversary bash?

At the 75th Chris said he'd been waiting 30 years to play those songs live, so based on that I'd say no. On the other hand, it seems to me that there was a Yes tour around that time where a lot of the solo material got played.

Yup - and here's a pretty good site that shows what recordings are available.

i attended the memphis show of that tour-it remains one of my favorite productions-green lasers,3 headed roger dean dinosaur skull, and excellent sound and effort from the band,i think moraz was brilliant. i am having to go by memory, which is bad,but i thought jon did a song from "olias".

I attended that tour at the Washington DC show. No FOOW but I was very, very close to the stage. Good show but the venue pulled the plug before the end of Roundabout. Very strange indeed.

Hey Jerry! I apologize for abbreviating, I could have put in lots more Image Like what they were wearing, which instruments they used on which songs, what they had for breakfast that morning, practical jokes in the dressing rooms, and other boring stuff...

I saw them at the Omni in Atlanta in '76 (and thank you Dean brothers for the brilliant stage set). They did 'Hold Out Your Hand / You By My Side'. Moraz did a piano piece from the 'I' album. Anderson did his harp bit with the lasers and after Roundabout they did 'I'm Down'! I saw them again a few weeks later in Tampa and they had dropped FOOW by then.

Chris also performs Hold out your hand/you by my side on the Conspiracy dvd. The Squire/Sherwood project. I have it and i think it was recorded during 2003/4. There is also footage at the rickenbacker 75th anniversary concert of Chris performing these 2 songs too on youtube
