Hey Mitch I think I have a rather rough copy of that Lp in stock...you can have it for the cost of shipping if I can dig it out...if not I'll tell Paul it's a rare find and sell it to him!

I remember hearing Wings do "Live and let Die" very often one summer on my old AM radio,, and turning up the bass because I thought it sounded cool...

Maybe Paul is my earliest bass influence after all.

My first musical memory ,that is still so very clear in my mind 43 years later, is of sitting in the back seat of my fathers 1963 falcon wagon and hearing "From me to you" on the car radio! I was fascinated and remember singing the song, or, what i could recall of it, for ages after that!
"Hello, Goodbye" was another i remember,...... knocked me out!

My father listen to easy listening stuff during the fifties when I was a pre-schooler. I remember stuff like Volare, Theme from a Summer Place, The Rain Falls mainly on the Plain. First rock n roll I remember is Purple People Eater, Lipstick on your Collar, Jailhouse rock. I remember mainly novelty songs or huge hits from that period. I can remember hearing a rock n roll station sitting in my father's 51 Plymouth and my father saying "that's junk" and quickly changing the station. Another early one I remember is Don't you just know it, Huey Piano Smith and the Clowns, Twilight Time by the Platters, Tequila, The Champs.
The funny thing is is that when The Beatles and Stones became big my father actually started liking them, especially The Beatles. I can remember him sitiing with his earphines on digging Sympathy for The Devil snapping his fingers, haha!

I shared a bedroom with my brother, who is 9 years older than me. When I was 5 I wanted to be Alice Cooper. I remember the album Killer, but the only song I remember specifically was Dead Babies. I also remember the poster that came with the Stones' Goat's Head Soup. My brother hung it over his bed and it scared the **** out of me.
I also remember my dad listening to lots of Tommy Makem and the Clancy Brothers.

The first thing I remember where I heard music and it, uh, I don't know, "moved" me somehow, was actually the episode of Alvin & the Chipmunks where they covered Billy Joel's "The Longest Time." Probably explains a lot. I think I was, like, 10 or something.

I remember being a pre-schooler and "playing" a violin like a bass while pretending to be McCartney.
Also about the same time, I remember my Aunt asking me what my favorite song was and replying "Roundabout" although I couldn't pronounce it at the time and my older brothers made fun of me. When was that on the radio?
I also remember exactly where I was when I heard on the radio that the Beatles broke up.

My LP of the soundtrack to the Wizard Of Oz on my little cheap record player as a 4-5 year old. I was so in love with that hottie Judy Garland on the cover!

That and the Lawrence Welk Show on my grandmother's television NOT in reruns.
