Is it my imagination, or is there some special aniversary/celebration coming up in the next couple of years for the RIC corperation? I seemed have read something about this somewhere.

Yeah, how about a Peter Buck model? I thought his was "stock" until today. I changed my strings to what I believe to be his preferred extra heavy gauge. I took it to the shop today to have the nut slots widened to accommodate the new strings, since they didn't fit (360). That makes it modified!
Of course, I'm just having fun, since I know there will be no Buck model. But I am curious, since I believe RIC did work on his guitar, if there is anything else that is different about Peter Buck's 360 compared to a completely stock model.
If his nut slots were not modified, I'm gonna puke.

I really hope that RIC international makes this anniversary a big splash. It would provide Rickenbacker an opportunity to show its appreciation for the buyers, fans, etc., and it would, just as importantly, give us buyers, fans an opportunity to show our appreciation for Rickenbacker

Just wishing!

I seem to remember Mr. Hall saying the company has enough original parts for a series of 30 'frying pans' to comemorate the company's 75th birthday. I think it was in an early '90s 'Rickenbacker special' issue of 'The Guitar Magazine'

With all due respect for everyone's wishes and desires, I think a "Commemorative Frying Pan" would be more appropriate to observe the 75th anniversary of the company that produced the first "mass produced" electric guitar.
That said, my "Xmas wish" would be for a "Rickenbacker Custom Crafted" line to be created.
Then we could at least have a "window of opportunity" at getting those 4003S/5's and 1968 reissue 4001's!
