For me it's the BBC series or nothing.

This is the first series that I can think of that does justice to the BBC version. I have only seen the BBC shows a few times though. The Office & Scrubs are the only weekly shows that are must-see for me.

I'm boycotting sitcoms since "Arrested Development" went off the air.
Actually I tried watching "The Office" a few times and just didn't get into it. Oh well.

Yes Jason, to me the BBC series is far superior! I enjoy the US series, but it has something missing!...The lead actor(BBC) is a classic!

I've liked everything I've seen of Ricky Gervais. He is hilarious.
I miss Arrested D too.

Brian, I hear you regarding Arrested Development. I have all of the DVDs for that series. Classic!!!!! How could that show not make it?? Fox I guess. I can't believe that just about everybody I talk to about great TV shows never even heard of it. Sad.

Kent and others look out for Extras a series made by Gervais after The Office. Of course it may not translate because some of the guests on the series are not known in States but are very popular or were over here.

extras was fantastic , but i dont think it would have been as good without Maggie who also starred in ugly betty.

Looks great. I love that British humor... or should it be humour.

I just ordered:
Did they only do two seasons?

Yes, there were two seasons and two christmas specials, which are all included in that box set. It's perfect because they didn't overdo it. It all comes around and all the loose ends are tied up. They didn't stretch it out forever like some great shows, eventually loosing their spark. If you get all the way through this and still haven't gotten enough, you should definitely check out "Extras". It's Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's (writers and creaters of the office) 2nd show, which IMHO is equally ingenious. Also, in a slightly different vein, "The Mighty Boosh" and "Look Around You" are 2 more great british comedies.
