Bridge pickup adjustment on 4003

I read this on the Manual from the Official Rickenbacker site.

Do not attempt to adjust the polepieces (screw-like studs in the center of the pickup) on Rickenbacker high gain pickups. These are set at the factory, and any attempt to adjust them can cause permanent damage to the pickup.

Does this mean that the bridge pickup can't be adjusted? I raised the G string side of that pickup a tad. The manual isn't very clear about what "screw like studs" they are refering to. I raised the screw on the bottom side of the hand rest. I hope they aren't refering to that!

Gabriel,
You did alright.
The 2 big screws on both sides of the treble PU surround are for pickup height adjustment. The 4 buttons on both the bass and treble high gain pickups are the polepieces that extend the magnetic field from the magnets under the pickups. Theoretically, the polepieces are not to be turned...

Yes, the polepieces are not meant to be adjusted. If your Rickenbacker pickups are of this type, that is.

If they happen to be of this type, you can turn (=adjust) and even remove the polepieces - no harm will come to the pickups.
