The following acoustic guitar was owned by George Harrsion and his father before him. Harrison's father purchased the instrument for $5.95 but it sold for $469,200 in an auction this past week. A waitress from London's Hard Rock Cafe holds the instrument in this photo.

That looks like the one we see a very young, sweater-wearing, tossle-haired, pre-Beatle George playing in Beatle book photographs.

Same scene, same HRC clothes, pins, etc., as the Gallotone presentation. It's like, 'look what the Hard Rock Cafe found'. Only problem is they didn't find it and it's not Harrison's Egmond. There is a reason they hold the auctions at the HRC, if you don't 'read between the lines' it gives this guitar some kind of authenticity. Sorry, this just really gets on my nerves. If anyone cares I can show you why this guitar is not real. And no, the photos are not conclusive but what other guitar could this be?

OK, it's really not that complicated. If you can get beyond the fact that the Egmond sat at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and The Beatles Story for about three years(which really doesn't mean anything as they are happy to accept a free 'supposedly' celebrity guitar to display), you're left with one letter stating that my father bought this guitar from George Harrison's father as a birthday present for me in 1959. That letter and a photo from 1961 which I believe shows the Egmond laying on a table in front of George and his mother. What other guitar could it be? I've mentioned this on other web-sites but nobody seems to get the importance of the photo that contradicts the letter. The photo is on page 26 of The Beatles Anthology book. Could you post that photo Peter or anybody?
