Toaster pickup question.....

I have a '67 335 that had the original toasters taken out and DiMarzios put in their place. I have a set of newer toasters to put back in their place. My question is are these newer ones the same physical size as the vintage ones? The previous owner had reamed the p/u holes out some to fit the DiMarzios and there is a space above and below the toasters when I place them in position. The toasters DO sit there on the sides, at least. I have no vintage toasters to compare them......

Chris - i have an original 70's toaster in my 4001 - im almost certain these are the same as 60's toasters, tho the 60's ones had shorter magnets .

Im quite sure they are the same size otherwise

Thanks, Owen. This is good to know. Here are a couple pics of my "situation". You can see that there is about 1/8" on top & bottom of toaster when in position. I was thinking of using maybe an old mousepad turned upside down for a type of "bushing" or bed for the toaster. My 360-12 has this type of thing. Would it be appropriate for a '67 335? It would indeed cover those open areas...any other suggestions? Somebody here HAS to have been in this predicament before??...ImageImageImage

Chris, i think i know what you can do! Are your toasters mounted using those little rubber grommets? Well, all the newer guitars (including my bandmates 360 that im very familiar with) have pickups mounted with a foam pad cut to the same shape as the pickup, instead of the grommets.

So yeah, cut a mouse pad up - itll serve the same purpose.

look at this image off RIC's site, this is the pad i mean. If i were you i wouldnt bother buying real ones, but rather making slightly larger ones yourself to cover the holes.
