McGuinn on PBS

This show was a repeat, but I'd thought I'd mention it. A couple nights ago I was channel surfing and caught the Smothers Brothers introducing Roger McGuinn. McGuinn did dead-on renditions of MTM and TTT (with full band), many, many close-ups of his 360/12RM (signed PG). Hearing these live impressed me more than ever with the clarity of his picking style. I immediately went to my music room and tried in vain to play as well on my 12!

Ooops, read another post, it was a 370. It had little arrows drawn around one of the knobs, for to remember setting, I'd imagine. Lots of Rickenbacker shots, though!

I saw that one of the local PBS stations will be running a second folk music tribute (new) this week - I plan on taping it in case any Rickenbackers show up...

The Biography Channel in the UK featured Bobby Darin the other day. In a grainy filmed performance of Bobby's 1963 folk act, you could just make out a young bearded guitarist in the background.
