The Hellions almost certainly named themselves after the movie of the same name which featured Marty Wilde, there was also a EP called the Hellions and a song of the same name by Marty Wilde.

The band contained two members who did later find fame Jim Capaldi and Dave Mason who went on to form Traffic.

Their first single was a Jackie De Shannon number and this track may well have been too, so a Searchers connection there.
