The Fireglo fake also has a screw-on neck with 'made in Japan' and serial no.
Fake nameplate too. Not screenprinted like my '73 4001 - just label under plastic.
1976 Ibanez I'm guessing.
Sound and action similar to real thing though!!!

hope this helps with some id issues.
Regards Rod in Oz.

The fake looks like it has nicer inlays though.

The neck plate on the fake - 'Made in Japan'.
I agree the inlays on the fake are more attractive - very glossy pearlised look.
The copy only has one truss rod. Single input jack also.

Anyone else want to put up some things to look out for on Ricky copies.?

The inlays on my March '73 4001 look nice, to me, anyway. :)

I bought a 77 4001 that was so hacked up a fake might have been better .
