Paul,

As a Surf aficionado I thought you’d like this (if you haven’t heard it already). It was on the radio yesterday and I liked it a lot.

PS: It sounded a lot better on my car stereo than it does through my PC.

Cool...done as it should be with a full orchestra..kettle drums and all! Really not much of a guitar tune done this way,,,brass and drums rule this one! 8)

Funny thing is, George, when I heard this in the car (without knowing who it was) the guitar sounded much better.

I like the way Brian Setzer approaches music and the guitar. He gets the importance of the notes he plays and really enjoys doing it. Hard to describe it, but I think he doesn't over- or under-play. He has a smile on his face and his hands move without effort- and they even hit the notes he's thinking- but maybe that's why he's smiling.

The guitar does stand out on this mix, and that isn't a bad thing.

Agreed, Brian can be very taseful in his playing..most of the time. It must be remembered that Rockabilly guitar playing has mucho flash....hey the early groups in this style were the first power trios after all. Brian's version of Sleepwalk off his Dirty Boogie cd is very cool until the last couple of minutes when he gets too far away from the curl imo. A great player with excellent tone and esquisite taste in gear as well!

Very cool! Anyone else think Brian looks like Darren's older brother?

I really think Brian's hair inspired the whole anime thing. I understand what you're saying, George, but how far away from the curl can he get with that giant wave thing on his head? It is tempting for me to put up some 4x8's, rebar, concrete and sculpt my back hair combover thing to outdo him. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow night and scare the bejeezis out of you guys.

I forwarded the link to my buddy who loves the "bear killer" bewhammied big box Gretches. He had seen that tour.

I remember seeing them live at the Phoenician Club. So much fun.
