Nowhere Man solo-Harmonic at the end

Hi Guys- So I guess we're all confirmed that this a double tracked Strat here, correct?? What I've always been curious about, is the harmonic at the end of the solo. Only recently, I'm realising that it would have to done at the 5th fret high E string, or the 24th fret (None of which existed in the '60's, right??)
The note is clearly an octave higher than a 12 fret harmonic.
This is a really hard note to grab, immediately after the solo especially. I'm wondering if this was a separate overdub, perhaps? Or just a single note played on maybe a Fender Rhodes electric piano??
Any thoughts?
Thanks! Christian

George manages to hit the harmonic (first string/fifth fret) in this live performance:

but not in this one:

In both, George and John are playing Epiphone Casinos.
IMO, a compressor should be used. And yes, with enough practice, the harmonic can be hit at the end of the lead riff. The "George" in The Beatrips does a nice job of it:

The solo was not double tracked, it was played by both Harrison and Lennon playing Unisono. They probably rehearsed this one until infinity because they nailed it.

Whether double tracked, or played in unison, (it's irrelevant) the harmonic is pretty easy to do. I say this, knowing full well I never had to hit the note, I left that for our lead player. Took him about one run through before he got it. Gary's right, may take a little work, and then again, maybe not. I guess that depends on you.

Added note. I think on the studio version of the song Lennon played the rhythm with a capo at the second fret. This would certainly change the dynamics of the lead.

The toughest part of playing the harmonic is having one's finger on the right place on the string when the string is struck. Again, practice ad infinitum helps!

clarify a bit, just because the guitars didn't have 24 frets, they did have the harmonics in that location, they all do. on a strat, it's directly over the neck pickup!

Thanks for the EXCELLENT info gents! I had heard that it was a Strat on Drive My Car, Day Tripper (Double tracked for sure), AND Nowhere Man, but I will heed and yield to your guys' wisdom.
Always thought I was hearing an acoustic on the rythym, and YES it DOES sound capoed at the second fret, played with a "D" voicing, although John did'nt capo it live.
For that matter, they learned "Yesterday" in "F", as opposed to G tuned to "F", so, you know!
Thanks! Christian

Oh yeah; the Casino's live, of course. I do think it was a Strat(s) on the recording though?

Wow! Jim Keltner on drums.
The vocals are double tracked and compressed, JUST LIKE THE RECORD.
The double tracked guitar solo is done on two Strats, JUST LIKE RECORD.
The minor 7th's are in there on John's acoustic, JUST LIKE THE RECORD.
What a STELLAR job.
I had always thought John's part was capoed at the second, this makes me realise otherwise.
The more I see, the more I realise you have to leave the U.S. for some of the nost AUTHENTIC Beatle covers done RIGHT!!

The ONLY thing I'm NOT hearing, is at the end of every chorus, on the original recording, George starts bleeding in a B major, while John is still on the F#m7.
Here, "George" waits for John to arrive at the B major.
But hey; AMAZING!!!

Just listened again; on the end of the LAST chorus, the "George" part does indeed come in soon with the B major while "John" is still on the F#m7.
I THINK on the recording, it happens EVERY TIME this way.
This makes for very nice counterpoint.
