John, it could be one, yes. It falls right in about the time for those. The one sure-fire way to tell would have been the warranty card (360-12-BWB), but I would have to think this one has a pretty strong chance of being a B-Series 12-string. YMMV!

Owner says it is one of the very first reissues. Looks like a "B" to me...

I'm not familiar with the BWB series. Could someone enlighten me on this, or perhaps post the link to the discussion thread on the topic, if it's been previously discussed at length, thanks!

I'm far from an expert on B-series guitars, but I'll tell you what I know. In the 1980's, Rickenbacker introduced their first line of reissue instruments. They were obviously trying to appeal to Beatle fans, because the three chosen models included a 'John' 6-string guitar, a 'George' 12-string guitar and a 'Paul' bass guitar. These guitars were far less accurate than the later V-series and current C-series reissues. The 'John' guitar was basically a 320 JG with toasters. The 'George' guitar was a 360/12WB FG with toasters. The 'Paul' bass was a current model with toasters. I don't know much about the bass because I'm a guitarist. The 6 and 12-string came with R-tailpieces instead of the Accent vibrato or the trapeze. I'm not sure which tuners and TRC's they used. The 'John' guitar had the thinner body (like a V64 or a C64). The 'George' guitar had a 24-fret neck. To Beatle purists, these guitars have little value due to their many historical inaccuracies. To Rick collectors, these guitars are of some interest due to their limited production. To players, these are fine guitars that are every bit as good as other 1980's Rick models.
