When Did RIC Go Back To Small Headstocks?

I'm hoping to get a quick answer on this. I'd like to order a new 330 JG on-line tonight, but I'm wondering what my chances are concerning the headstock size. I want the new smaller headstock, but I'm not sure exactly when RIC started shipping these out. I saw some of the small headstocks at a guitar show in October. Does anybody know? Thanks!

I think the smaller headstocks were available in the late spring/early summer of this year.

We'll see what we get. Ordered a 330 JG last night from Musician's Friend. With their $150 instant rebate I got it for $1149 and free shipping, so I couldn't resist.

ditto. now if they'd only go back to the big bass bodies they'd be great again! 8)

Hiya Sean,

When were the RIC bass bodies bigger and when did they change? I'm curious. I knew nothing about this. Was there a variation in body size in the 4000 through 4004 series, or were you referring to the 4005 hollowbody? :? :D

I believe 97 was the last year for the small headstocks and bigger body wings, until this year's return to the slightly smaller headstocks. i am speaking about 4001/4003 basses.

Rick newbie here: When I saw that you were getting the $150 off I have decided to pull the trigger on a 360-6, myself. Thanks a lot ;)

Miles: Look out! If you hang around here too much, you'll end up with lots of Ricks!

You may be right. Do you guys post clips here somewhere?

I've got a feeling, a feeling deep inside, oh yeah.

Woohoo! The 330 JG just arrived and it does have the newer small headstock. According to the labels on the carton, this guitar shipped from RIC to Musician's Friend on 04/17/07. It's exactly what I wanted and I got it for an excellent price. Thanks RIC and MF!

Is the pic on your hard drive and not bigger than 800x600 pixels and no larger than 299Kb? If so, when you click to add a post you will see in blue under the posting block the words Upload attachment. Click on that and follow the instructions.

I used to post pictures frequently on the old website, so I'm familiar with the resizing procedure. I just haven't taken the time to figure out the new website. I'll snap some pictures of my new guitar and try to post this weekend. Thanks!
