Strings for a Jazz Bass

I just ran into a great deal I couldn't pass up on a brand new American Jazz Bass. The only thing is that I've been away from Fenders so long that I have no idea what might be some good strings to put on them. Right now there are GHS Bass Boomers on it, and I'm not a big fan. A little too bright. I have TI Jazz Flats on my 77 4001, and I love the sound and feel. However, this is a different animal. Anybody have any suggestions? What do the Fender Jazz owners around here do stringwise? I ask on this forum because it's obviously the place to get quality, straight answers.
Thank you all in advance.

I use the same strings on my Jazz as I do on my Rics. DR Black Beauties. If not available, then D'Addario XL.

I find Jazz's to be on the trebly side, especially if you lean on the bridge pickup more. Some guys like that Geddy-type sound out of a Jazz, but i'd go with big flats - which is what i'll be doing when I get my Jazz assembled in the coming weeks.

When I had my AV '62 Jazz Bass I found the TI JFs to be perfect for it.

My Geddy Lee J bass still has the original strings on it(it hasn't had a whole lot of playing time). Does anyone know what they are offhand? I rather like the feel of them and would like to replace them with the same strings when the time comes.

Oops, nevermind-I found it on the company website:
Super 7350M, NPS, p/n 073-7350-006,
Gauges: (.045, .065, .085, .105)

I use the Fender Super Bass 8250s Nickel Rounds on my Custom Classic Jazz V....I like the taperwound E and B strings. On the four string version just the E is taperwound I believe. If your a fan of the Ric Nickl rounds (I am) these strings are somewhat similar IMHO.

i just picked up an early 80's warmoth jazz, with rosewood 'board, and i have a set of rotosound nickel rw on it-liking the sound a lot,but can't wait for the strings to break in a bit, then they'll be even better! i also like dr sunbeams, have them on my 4000.

I find Chromes sound good on just about anything so far, not too bright and not too dull, right in the middle. I have them on my fretless P bass and they really cut through.
