Not Ric related, but I need help from you bass experts

Post by stts64 »

Sorry, this is not Ric related, but I need your help identifying the bass in this video. It has been bugging me for some time and I just can't come up with the answer. Looks like possibly a Yamaha , but I am not sure. I know that there is a lot of experienced bass "nuts" on this forum that may have an idea what bass it is.

It's a US made Lakland 55-94 Classic in Olympic White.

Here's a nice clear pic -

Man, I just hate the look of their brigdes....it just clashes with the overall shape of the bass. (IMO)

Man, I love everything about these!!! I've never heard of them before. Thanks for posting it! Must admit I kept forgetting I was supposed to be trying to figure out what kind of bass it was (sorry). I was kind of distracted  .....but yep, at 3:30 of the vid there's the Lakland head.

Yeah, the bridges are a bit *large* but a huge improvement over the old Fender style bridge. Plus you have the option of going strings through the body or a top load, which comes in very handy when using flats. I've a Skyline Joe Osborn and it's the best bass that Fender never made; I love it and the price is right, too!
