A copyright issue is likely right, but a bad one. Man!! But it has quartz movement. There is some kind of movement involved, but I don't know if it's quartz.

Speaking of clocks and their kin, I've seen a watch advertised in some old guitar magazine. It had 2 Ricks in a yin-yang pattern. Does anyone know what I am talking about? It wasn't ugly at all though.

Nope. Kitsch of the most offensive variety.

This is a category of stuff that I call, "stuff that's made to look like other stuff". Why should a machine that tells time look like a de-necked guitar body? Why should an espresso machine look like a basketball? Why should a golf cart look like a football helmet, or a cigarette lighter look like Jesus Christ?

These are things that have their purposes, around which they were originally designed. To appropriate the look of one thing for the purpose of another which has no relation to the original thing's purpose, is stupid, dishonest, and, well...ugly.

Darn, I was going to list my day old cheese sandwich that looks like the Modonna.
