No affil... it's a $150 BIN Fender copy, but the case (extra $50) looks like it has
three Ric TRC's on it... worth $50 if they are the real thing. I think I see screw holes...

the seller, John, aka Iamaknifeguy sells a lot of Ric parts - he'd know what he had if they were actual TRCs...
too bad though, that would have been quite the grab!
oh - and he's a great guy to deal with by the way...

Story time: ( ! )
A few years ago I bought a used late 70's Rick bass case off ebay. When I opened it, I was surprised to find a lot of spare parts from the bass that used to live in the case before it was destroyed: A Tail & bridge, a set of Schaller M4S tuners, a '77 jack plate, two TRC's (one black, one white) and some other misc parts. Quite the windfall as they were worth more than the case. The seller knew that the parts were in the case and told me that he threw them in because he thought I might be able to use them.

When you click to supersize the auction pic, it sure looks like these are 3 real raised-letter TRC's. Screw holes, "MADE IN USA", they don't look like stickers.

Ilan, I zoomed the larger pic and it looks like there is a shadow with the TRCs, and a sticker would not do that. MHO.

If I understand the seller correctly, they are real TRC's that are glued to the case.

i can't figure out why Jon would leave them on there...
he sells Ric parts, right down to pickguard screws and toggle switch tops.
i can't fathom why he'd let FOUR TRCs go for $50 (price of the case)
in the holiday 'spirit'?

my first thought was that he put them there to make photos of them also (for other ebay auctions).

Ah no, my friend, You really think I would give away 4 trc's for $50.00. LOL

Some poor guy is thinking this is for a C series bass...

Well it looks as if our own Dale Fortune bought the surround. Look at the buyer's Ebay ID. Must be for a restoration project I'm sure.

This was added to the auction page:
"I have gotten 10 emails about the Rickenbacker Decals on the case. These are not Truss covers, just a vinyl decal I made. There is also one more black on white one on the handle side. All 4 of these are already attached, and come with the case."

I'm sure that Dale bought it for an appropriate restoration, but that doesn't make it right to be misrepresented like it was...

This is true.
