Duke, missed your post here and the other place on this, saw John's. That's a pretty awesome collection, particularly with those amps.

Hope he's just deciding to turn a profit and not in any serious health challenges...

no bids yet. Great collection.... but is it really worth it? I may be off base here, bont you think the individual items could be collected for a lot less?

Good question! Ron is a friend of mine and I think he has an added value because of the complete collection. Would anyone like to take a shot at the value by breaking it down? That could be fun.... :P

I think it'd be hard to guess, but I've seen pretty consistent speculation that the 325 alone is probably worth at least half the auction total.

It's all wrong to me. Bass is right handed and the 325 has F holes. Laaame!

Prices will vary according to Vintage or Re-Issue, refin vs original, condition , rarity /production totals & Beatle type specifications (color /parts right , tuners so forth).
Kind of like: the value of X divided by Y ..to the factor of 1964...LOL
Values * Note: Rons amps excluded..also excluded:
Hidden costs may include:
~Blood Sweat & Tears factor
~Beatles Gear factor
~Travelling expenses
~Vintage show costs
~Trips to Europe (Before Ebay was around)
~Cartage/Storage costs (Upkeep over time, Luthiers etc)
~Auction house Beatle buys along the way, any other Fees, Taxes, Sleeping Bags ..lol
Lest we forget the most important cost factor:
~The buying of the Wifes gifts along the way. New Kitchen maybe? The compensatiary factor (is that a word?) -

Sorry if I forgot any extra Beatle Collection upkeep costs, I use to be one (collector) too.
Studio, House costs (Power) Total: 50K-100K ++.. easy :P
So..to each his own , Or her.
Plug into ALL OF THIS now (below) "your own" pricepoints .
Ask me tonite.tomorrow, all these prices ( I guessed at) will vary tremendously.
Starting to look like a deal imho.
Note: Cannot forget the ** Find another Factor , hard (near impossible) to globetrot the world/the net, and find other pieces quality/condition as nice as Rons gear 8) ***
Here's a breakdown of 56 Beatle Guitars . Some may disagree with my list ..thats ok too.

Then my work here is done! I'd change it to something else, but none of my pics fit the size limit of the forum.

Yeah, I admit it, but I'm stingy about Beatles stuff. If I were to ever get a 4001c64 or c64s I'd have ta get it left handed. Then it'd be wall art, but it'd be correct. I had a right handed holfner style bass (not sure what it was, the name fell off the headstock) but it was right handed and RED. Still a nice bass, got that sound right on. Sold it a couple years back because it wasn't correct... oh yeah, and my 4001 sounds better.

Depends who you want to ask.
Adding up all the factors (listed above).

There "are no" Rick basses in this horse race.
Ya want to see a lefty Hofner ? They are out there.

Did all "what work" nate? Collecting is work , labor of love.
