And just think, for 50K, the original hardshell case is thrown in. This guy is living a pipe dream

I really don't like the fact that clearly it has been hanging on by the tuners. It better have been in the hands of George Harrison and still have his fingerprints on it to be worth this much.

Its the fact that its lying face down on that Dirty floor that annoys me

I think his Ebay name, "I buy bursts" about says it all. A speculator, and one who is not familiar with the market in Ricks, obviously...

The seller is Mikes Music in Kentucky. I'm 100% positive that the asking price is a typographical error only. Mike frequently has some tasty vintage Rickenbackers in stock and his prices are usually very reasonable. I bought my beloved 1960 335F from his Ohio store a couple of years ago and I found him to be a very honest straight-up person to do business with. I bet his BIN price is supposed to be $5000, not $50,000.

A persian rug, a plush blanket, or anything besides a dirty wood floor. A $500 guitar deserves better, let alone this one whether its $50K or supposed to be $5K.

OK, still if he did accidentally move the decimal point one place too far to the right, isn't $5K asking a little to much? Correct me if I missed something, but I didn't see anything about that guitar that would make it a collector's item. Nice guitar, I'm sure. But 5 grand for a regular fireglo 360/6 string? Why even with the recent price increase, you could buy (or nearly so) 2 Ricks for 5 grand.

I can't say if he added one too many zeros or not, but like others have alluded to, the general presentation of the guitar lacks a lot to be desired. The description (or failure thereof) leaves you with even less.

This dealer has had a lot of very nice vintage gear. I've looked at his g-Base listings and they all look like this. It has to be a typo.

I've seen a steady, and recent climb in used prices. I just saw a '66 335, in much better condition than mine, advertised for 5k. I figured mine might be worth about 2k, maybe 2500. Now, even as 6 or 7 for condition, the price might be a lot higher. Maybe the Fenders and Gibsons are dragging prices up with them for anything 60's.

The vintage market for Fender and Gibson, the staple models: Strats & Teles, Les Pauls & 335's, have really begun to spill over. First it was Jags and Jazzmasters that started going up as well as SG's and Firebirds among others. Now it seems that there has been more spill-over onto Rics. It seems like it was a natural thing to have happen. But, again, people will pay whatever something is worth to them.
