Trying to add a little "color"

This has nothing to do with Rickenbackers or music in general except in a very loose sense.
I joined a new forum yesterday related somewhat to music. The forum, like at most these days, allows HTML coding.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve always preferred blue ink and blue text. (Maybe to match my eyes?) The pens I use at work have blue ink, my e-mails are in blue, etc.
So I typed a message yesterday, put in my color code and tried to post it. But the code did not work. The text remained black. I tried again twice. Same results. Finally, I decided to just send the darn thing off the way it was.
Late last night I was home working on some things on my studio computer and decided to have one more crack at it.
I stared at the message and the coding and took a wild guess. Instead of “color” I typed “colour” and guess what?
Blue text.
What is the saying? Two countries divided by a common language.
