Thanks Norway for your recent registrations. We now have 17 entries in the Register from your country. It would seem that the Rickenbacker bass is the King Of Rickenbackers in Norway, if our sample is a reflection of the greater population of owners in your country. At the present time 76% of Registered Rickenbackers are basses. Your comments would be appreciated in this regard.

Hi, Peter.
I really don't know why, but it seems to me basses are most popular in real life as well as in the register. The only guitars I have seen first hand have been in stores (one 381 about a year ago and two 330 just recently). I know of one guitar player using a 330.
On the bass side, I know of 4 other basses (plus mine 3), as well as a at few bands using them. The only one I've seen new in a store, was 8 years ago. I bought it.
Norway is a small country, and ricks are not common here. The distributor doesn't do much promoting these instruments, and the shops rarely risk ordering one for display. On Norways biggest 2ndhand online site for instruments there are 3 ricks, 1 bass and 2 guitars. Not much ground for statistics

Some new registrations are just in from Norway.
At present approximately 70 percent are basses, 17 percent 6 strings and 13 percent 12 strings.

Lars: I corrected the error in your Rickenbacker registration. Thanks for your heads up.

Thanks again today for your contribution to the Register, Norway.
With just over two dozen Rickenbackers from your country it would seem that Rickenbackers are a rarity.
I would be interested in your comments about how unusual it may be to see a Rickenbacker being played at a live performance where you live?
