Bit easier this week but still a bit of a rarity.

This Act were extremely popular in late 60's on both sides of Atlantic.

This was a single released in 76, sank without trace, but theme appropriate.

Player on site now fixed so just click play as usual

Seasons Wishes to you all and thanks for supporting this bit of fun each week.

Merry Christmas to you Roy, and to everyone who shows up here each week. We've all had a blast each Saturday for the last half-year. Mine is in.

A very Merry Christmas from a cold and snowy New Brunswick, Roy. I hope you haven't lost your tan. 8)

I continue to enjoy this weekly event and it wouldn't be Saturday without a teaser from Clough.

I know I will have to stand in line when I say I have learned so much from your clips and comments over the years and want to thank you for all your efforts in 2007. Long may they continue.

Oh yes, my vote is in.

Wow what a great song! I played it three times, I'll hopefully figure it out. Oh and Merry Christmas Roy! thanks for all these brainteasers, you keep me coming back. I thought I knew a lot about pop music until you started these  . Did you discontinue the 4 different versions?

Well nearly everyone who had a go got it in one form or another, track was credited to The Monkees but it was Dolenz, Jones, Tork no Nesmith

I had no clue. I was never much of a Monkees fan though. Back then at least I considered them to be a novelty band. I never took them seriously at all.

Does that mean Brian you have re-evaluated your opinion.

I thought they did some good stuff, didn't like everything but a good percentage.

Now that I know better and in light of the fact that their recorded works were not entirely performed by studio musicians as I had imagined, I have in fact tempered my view of them. Any way you slice or dice it though they were a fabricated band, put together by industry and given to the spin masters to create sufficient hype to make them popular. Most struggling musicians that I know resented that.

I now consider that Nesmith could have been a star no matter who he played with. He was a fairly accomplished musician.
