I have always been intrigued that some songs have become Christmas or Holiday classics that were not composed with that in mind. One such example is "My Favourite Things" from the musical, Sound Of Music.

This got me thinking of what other songs from the late 50s and 1960s that might also become Christmas classics, more or less, at one point or another.

I would like to offer one that I think has potential and it may be fun to see what others come up with. Sometimes the title or chorus may more appropriate than the actual lyrics, but I hope you give this light-hearted subject a go.

I offer, tongue in cheek, "Time Of The Season" by The Zombies.

Since materialism has become a Christmas tradition, "Money" ought to be a holiday classic in a few more years.

Another song that has taken on a Christmas tone is Gordon Lightfoot's "Song For A Winter's Night." This has happened through Sarah McLachlan's release of the same on a Christmas CD. The song does, however, fit very well with the "White Christmas" classic with great imagery surrounding a peaceful winter's night that we dream about around Christmas. With apology to Roy, this song was composed by Lightfoot in the mid 1970s. Reaching, he was a 60s artist too.

I've heard "Seasons of Love" played several times on the radio from a station that has played continual Christmas songs since Thanksgiving.
