This may be a bit obscure, but singer Lydia Mendoza passed away a few days ago. She was 91 and was known, during her career, as the “Lark of the Border.”
RIC guitars players especially should know about her because Mendoza was one of the first performers (in the 1930s) to play 12-string guitar.
