Kid in a Candy Store

I was looking for a new Rickenbacker wallpaper for the work computer, and ran across this site from the band Thrice. These pictures are from a private tour they took with John Hall. I am including my fave picture here, I like to call it Kid in a Candy Store. How could he resist the 2 Lightshows hanging on the wall?

I would have asked to see them in action, then promptly been asked to leave.
I look forward to other, more devoted Ric enthusiasts telling me what else is on that wall!

So what is that bass just behind the guy ... it sort of looks like a black 3000/3001 ... but what about the white pickup and white finger rest?

zoom the photo to full size and look at that odd bass at the very top left.....note the bridge (no mute) - i bet we would all like one like that.

Looks like a Cheyenne in the right foreground; only see the neck. I spy a brown 4002 in the bottom row next to the acoustic guitars. Characteristic shape to the pickguard and the p/u positions. Is that a quilted Cheyenne II on the floor to the left? Hey, kid! Pick that up and bring it to me. I live at 1969 Lakefield Road, . . . .

There is another picture on the site that I didnt post, but it shows "a famous player's 5-string that is in for repair", and it is one of the new 4004 5 strings. (I think it is Chris Squire's!)
It's the first production one I have actually seen! (I saw the computer-generated one...)

Interesting pictures...lots of Blue Boy 4003s in number 14. No hint of the new color, I suppose?

When I get down in the dumps and have to think of a "happy place", I think this is the room that I will think of from now on.

I would love to be able to buy Ric's in this state ... the wood is finished and it is ready to bolt on the hardware

Jeff, that guitar you are asking about is called an "Astro", it was a kit guitar that was sold as a self-assembly pack of parts in 1964-all this according to the "Electric Guitars: The Illustrated Encyclopedia" coffee table book.

Thats a really futuristic design for a 1964 guitar! String-thru body, angular design, very forward-thinking! Wonder what one of those in the box would go for now?
I was thinking to myself, you have 30 seconds to decide, John Hall gives you the chance to take home one of the guitars in that room. What do you take? (One only!) A hard call!

If I could take 2 off of that wall what would I take?
first would be Chris Squire's 4004cII5 ... then maybe the lightshow ....
of course I'd think about the lemmy 4004 and the 4080 and the jetglo 4005 ... and those acoustics are very cool
