I know has several Ricks, though I'm not sure what years they are.

I believe the one he used from 75 - 77 is a 73, and the one he got for Hemispheres is a '77. That's the one he brought on the S&A tour.

Nate, the '73 you mentioned, I wasn't sure if it was a later '73 or a 74.

I'm guessing it's a 73, but that's up for debate then.

Geddy had at least 2 4001 basses in the 73-75 range, a 4002, a 3001, 2 4080 double neck basses, a 4003, a modified p-bass, 2 or 3 wals, a steinberger, and a lot of jazz basses ... some of those basses are gone and there may be others I don't know about ... plus he has keyboards, guitars, and bass footpedals, plus midi trigger pedals, and a lot of household appliances that sit where his amp would be ... and his speakerless rig ... and his in ear monitors ... then there may be a few gems in his studio that we don't know about ...

I'll throw out an addition to Jeff's inventory list,,, I've seen him with the Jetglo and white/black trim 4080, and also a third mapleglo 4080 in his studio.

I think there are even more...if you watch the Rush DVD's with the old videos on them, he was playing a old-style (pre-73) Rick on the Don Kirschner Rock Concert footage and a white Rick in the Fly By Night video.

I've read that the white Fly By Night Ric was given to Les Claypool. I wish I was Geddy's mate.

Steve, I've got to find that old Don Krishners rocks concert with Rush. I can't believe I missed that one . Though I probably missed because the last few years that show aired, they had bands on that I didn't think fit the rock category and didn't pay attention to it as much.
The only Jetglo 4001s that I've seen Geddy play had all the newer appointments, except one had the neck pickup a half inch from the neck, the other has the neck pickup one inch from the neck.
The night I met Geddy Lee, I called Diane and made her run home to get one of my 4001 basses for him to sign. Turned out he wouldn't sign any instruments, but he did sign the tie I was wearing and a copy of "My Favorite Headache".

What was his reasoning for not signing instruments?

Awesome still. MFH is better than some Rush stuff to me. That album is just awesome.
And to correct Jeff, according to the Wal site he has 4 Wals. And I can prove it. The black one used on HYF, a Mach (or Mark I think) I, and another that was a 5 string. 5'ers come in Mach II or III models. He only used a 5 for Lock and Key. On the Presto tour (see youtube for proof) he had another black Mach I but with a natural headstock. And on RTB he had a red Mach II.
