The one that got away....

Just wondering who's had a Rick that they most regret letting get away.
I've had a couple really nice ones but for some reason the one that got a way for me, was my 81' 330 FG that I put toasters on.
Something about that guitar just really sang well through the AC 30.

Luckily I have a New 330 AFG on its' way which incidently I missed delivery last night. I'm going to vintage it up with Toaster covers, vintage knobs and tuners.
It will look pretty close to my long lost 81 330 FG. Hopefully it will bring back some great memories and inspire some new ones. The drag is I was home when the delivery supposibly was attempted. Now I'll have to wait another day.

I sold this so I could pay for my Blueburst 4003:

It was a nice, dark, purple-tinged Midnight Blue, and was an excellent bass to play. I've only sold 4 Rickenbacker basses in my life, and that is the only one I really regret selling.

I've been fortunate to have sold relatively few Ricks ... the one I do miss is the 1967 450 MG that I gave to my grand-niece (she still has it), it was a really nice player.

Ric330.....Recovery ~~ that's what life's all about, isn't it? Congratulations on your new acquisition. No doubt you will bond with your 330/6 AFG the way you did with your '81 version. Play on, play often. Regards....Goofyfoot.

I will always regret selling my 1967 456/12 because it was the first electric guitar I bought for myself, and because I know what I sold it for.

'81 370/12 Walnut, '88 350 OS JG, '73 480, '02 381/12v69 BG.

All for sentimental reasons more than anything. Totally happy with the current collection, but would certainly pay whatever I sold these for to get them back.

I've never sold a guitar.
Then again, I haven't owned many.

I talked about selling once and my friend & keyboard player said "You can't sell them, they're like family."

I had a 1980's 350 in Ruby. Sold it in '93. What the hell was I thinking?

Thanks for all the posts - I'm glad I'm not alone.
I did Have a nice Pete Townsend model a ways back but thought I needed a really expensive Martin at the time - Sold It!...DUH???
I've learned. You do get attached to them and only really feel the lost after the guitar you replace it with just wasn't work out to be all you thought...
Oh ...then it sets in ... Ah-WHY DID I SELL THAT ONE?

Hope I didn't miss the Rickenbacker 330 AFG.

I'm actually a guitar pack-rat. There are guitars here that I seldom use but that I won't sell simply because I'm afraid I'll miss them when they're gone. They all have their own unique voice, and when I play them (even if it's not as often as I'd like), I seem to rediscover it every time.

I really admire a player who get his or her rig down to two or three (or even one!) guitar and say, "This is me. This is what I sound like."

A guitar exactly the same as the one in my avatar is the one that "got away" for me. What on earth was I thinking? I use that avatar as a daily reminder that should I ever find another just like it, then............... I will probably end up with a divorce
