Stumbled on this surfing the Web. Googled Rickenbacker artwork and voila. It's by an artist named Christie Wood who is represented by Impulsive Gallery in Falls Church, VA. It ain't a twelve string but what the hell it's cool nonetheless. And I did buy it!

That piece is priceless!
What a find. I would have bought it myself if I had stumbled upon it.
Congradulations.
I just got one of these 24 X36 canvas prints:

I had googled for "Rickenbacker art" after seeing that print in another thread and found the stained glass piece among the entries that came up. I have a MapleGlo 370/12 so it was a natural. Had to buy it.

Rickenbackers make great subjects for art! Forumite Tony Carey has done a number of lovely oil paintings featuring Rickenbackers....

And on a far more amateur level, here is a picture I painted of my dream guitar, which I did a couple of years before Blueburst became a Color of the Year. This was my attempt to visualize it:

I like it! F hole, Vibrato, vintage pickups

I had to have that print because of my 360 JG.

Hey Todd that's really cool.
Here's my 360 JG with toaster covers on HG's and vintage tuners.
Here's a try at an art shot:

Thanks Kevin. That was the first body. I later built another one with a slightly revised shape to give a bit better fit in the original 2030 case and top binding added. It's currently wearing black trim.

Kevin,

How does that canvas look in person? I've seen those on eBay and have been tempted. Was it worth it?

As for Rick as art, the back wall of my office is lined with hanging guitars. I the center is a Rick Bass, a 360 BurgandyGlo and the semi-retired JetGlo 480. A couple of Fenders as well. You can see them from the street and the office building across the breezeway... I consistently get comments on how cool it looks.

Hello Jim,
It looks like the picture I posted with it a bit blurry on the right as is the original photo of John Lennons. I myself have never seen the original famous photo but it is exactly like the picture I posted - just bigger. If fact I did email the guy from Camdenstudios to enquire about the blurriness of the right side of the photo (more so than the left) and was told that the original is exactly like that. The capital R in Rickenbacker is not real sharp either but now that I know the story it is real cool. The quality is quite nice. Again if the blurriness would bother you I wouldn't get it. The center of the photo is real clear comparitively - as the original. Now that I know that it is as original - I really like it.
Hope that helps.
