:D LOL!

I was JUST looking at that auction!

I LOVE the 4001's with a SKUNK STRIPE!

I bet that bass looks MUCH BETTER in person than it does in the photo's.

She's a beautiful bass, and in excellent condition.

But I gotta say...I prefer a more gradual fade. My '76 4001FG goes from red in the center to dark red on the edges. No bare maple in the center. That's how I like it. YMMV.

FG is hard to photograph well, and usually you end up with a much more sudden transition that is actually the case. Although the color on this one shows up nice and rich, enlargement shows some digital artifacts in the blend area that are typical of the inability of the medium to handle this sort of subtlety in the red spectrum.

Translation: I think this one will look even nicer in the flesh.

The FG on my December '79 is much different than the one on the '80, or at least the way it shows up in the photo. My FG doesn't transition much at all on the back.

Hopefully to be re-finned in FG. Paul does really nice FG and bursts.
