congrats! looks to be 'all there'. some may come back and say the price was a little high; but it's not about to depreciate in value!
the type of lining in the case makes me wonder if thecase is truly original...shouldn't it be velvet-ish?

LOL!
Congratulations Marc!
That is a pretty one!
I was JUST LOOKING at that one! That is like the second time today that has happened!
Too funny, I went to check the serial number, came back......and I noticed you won it!
As for the price, not too bad at all. I've seen them go in the low to mid 4K range for a '73 with CB, just wait another few months, they'll go up in value.
ENJOY It!

You never asked!
Yes, I would have. And I might have included the RIHS pickup for that price!
Great looking 4001, Mark!

Tony, you're probably checking Ebay as often as I am, you can go through long period's of nada and them *BAM* something drops in your lap, I guess it's the thrill of the chase that keeps us going. What was different about this one was I called the wife over to look at it (I got married six months ago) so that I could get approval, this is something I'm not used to but necessary considering the amount of money. If this "hobby" wasn't also a good investment this would be really difficult to pull off.
Jeff, I never made you any offers because I don't think it's appropriate to aggressively pursue other people's guitars, I just tried to drop some hints that I would be interested if you chose to sell in the future. Now the March 73 on the other hand....

I'm trying to get them to work a deal with me on one of the basses they have listed but am not getting a response.
Gorgeous 73 you picked up!

Great bass Mark. I also was giving that one some very serious thought. Didn't think the price was too bad. Very, very nice bass

Ah, Mark.....a married man now huh? GOOD CALL on checking with the wife. I ALWAYS check with "Sr. Management" on the major financial decisions. It can be a difficult game. At times, I get a cold stare. Other times I get a "sure, go ahead"....once in a while I get a "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND"?!!?!?!?!? BUT, now and again, SHE actually does the buying! Talk about making life interesting! Wives, gotta love 'em!

Congrats Mark....that's a beauty for sure!
It's worth what you are willing to pay....you have your reasons and that's all that matters so just enjoy it. I never thought I'd pay $6K for a bass but I had my reasons and gots no regrets.
