will Ric swap a beat-up jack plate for a re-stamped one?

thanks to the help of a forumite, i've tracked down a '76 jackplate for the '76 4001 on it's way to me.

unfortunately this plate is quite scratched and rusting. would Ric stamp/engrave a new plate with the serial number if i sent the original in?

i've sent this query to the service department, but due to my impatient nature, thought i'd see if anyone has done such a thing.

You might want to wait until after this weekend to call RIC as the NAMM show is on. I'll bet all of those who could help you will be out setting up for the show.

you might have better luck getting it sandblasted and re-chromed yourself ... :(

Bryce, can you still see the serial number in the jackplate you have now?

A good plating shop could fix it for you. Maybe they would put it in with a larger order. The one near me does really great work but is it a little expensive. They did 3 tailpieces, 3 jackplates, 4 strap buttons and some other small parts for about $200. That included removing the old chrome and hand polishing each piece.

Actually, that does not sound expensive for that amount of pieces and the handwork involved.
