Leaving aside the obvious promotional reasons for this recent 30-minute NPR interview. ASTRID KIRCHHERR nevertheless, gives an often honest first-hand account of those early Hamburg years with the Beatles at..........

So much so, that towards the end of the broadcast I got the rather distinct impression that the now icon status of those early Beatles images greatly overshadowed her work as a photographer in later years.

Work as a photographer? She mentions that she enjoyed a career as a photographer's assistant, but her own self-doubt regarding her talent (and what a loss, considering her early, untutored work!) kept her from following her star to what would have been a quite influential outcome, I'm convinced, as a photographer.

Did I miss something?

I also found the title of the book, "Yesterday: The Beatles Once Upon a Time" to be very poignant. It seems like we're beginning to see some museum-quality dust beginning to be forced upon a once-sparkling and always legendary time.

But she finally hit it big with Punk'd and now she's married to Demi Moore, so everything worked out in the end.
