650c factory strings

I recently aquired a turquoise 650c. I think it was manufactured in 2002. The original owner said it has the factory strings .009-.042. They do seem easier to bend than 10s. When did Rickenbacker switch to 10s on the 650 models and what would be a factory equivalent of the 9s?
