is it possible to convert a B410 to EL84's ?

I have four of the yellow jacket converters for one of my Fender Twins

I used the Yellowjackets in my Deluxe Reverb to go from 6V6 to EL 84's and put in a Celestion Blue speaker and I Absolutely love it.
Now I can push the amp for that tone without being way to loud for some situations.

The only negative thing I can say for Yellow Jackets is that they add just a hint of hiss.

The good news is that you don't have to change anything else in the amp if you can run them. I'm not sure how clearances are in that amp for them. I'd measure it out before buying. I think YJ's are available in a shorter package, as well.

Also, you might try different brands of EL84s- some brands sound more like other tubes. My favorites are Ei's, but they are currently a little hard to find.

I've bought two different types of EL 84s; I bought a set of Groove Tube EL 84s for one of my AC30s, which were an amazing replacement for the reliable, yet tired NOS GE tubes that had been in the amp. The Yellowjackets come with the EL84s included. I think they're J&J or Sovtek, I can't remember which. I replaced these with Electro Harmonix Mullard replicas. They sound pretty cool. I go back and forth between the 6L6s and the Yellowjackets on my Customized Fender Twin, which has been modified for a tube rectifier. The 6L6s seem to give the amp a little more bottom end.

As for clearance, the EL84/Yellow Jacket combo leaves the tubes hanging down below the bottom end of the rear top cover, but not excessively. On a smaller amp the tubes should still clear.

Don't know what to do about hiss. I don't remember noticing it when I used the Yellow Jackets, but I haven't played around with that amp for a couple of months.

When I ordered my YJ I ordered them short and they are shorter than the other set I used in a Blues Deville.
I don't think that the hiss is that noticable at all - at least on my amp.

Taking an amp with a really low noise floor, there is a difference. As with a lot of guitar nuances, it is probably not apparent to anybody in the first row.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I'll freak out about some slight hiss, then I stand five feet away from the amp, or offstage, and it's pretty much inaudible, and certainly so in a live mix with the rest of the band! Some recording engineers are the same way, and then it doesn't end up even mattering in the final recording mix.
