You know, I could REALLY get to like this idea!
A LONG time ago, I read an article that Tony Levin (if recall correctly) actually had a custom made 3 string bass at one time!
What good is a "G" string anyway......wait a minute......
Scratch that! LOL!

Tony has a three string Music Man Stingray. He had it made to use his funkfingers with.

Interesting. It looks like a Vox neck with one less string and longer scale. The site doesn't seem to explain how he reinforces the necks (truss rods), but it looks like he does custom orders. I wonder what his prices are, although I don't think I want anything for the moment.
