I've been quoted twice in our paper, and made a fool because of it both times. The last time, I had a new reporter come up to my young family and me and start talking, saying she was new in town and had to cover the Christmas Parade. I talked to her for a half hour, telling her all about the history of the parade, sponsors, that we had a large number of clowns that were in all the parades (during which time I stated "All the clowns come out for the parades") and lastly she asked me what I thought of the weather, seeing it was a cold rain, and I said, "Bah Humbug! But we are enjoying the parade." Guess which two little bites made it in the paper, after a half hour of talking..... I was harasses for weeks by everyone I knew for that one.

So yours isn't so bad, John. And you will outlive it.

Oh, and very nice V63 too!

Man Down (MySpace.com/weremandown) may not be the only cover band on Staten Island that cranks "Play that Funky Music," but they are more than likely the one that plays the theme from "Duck Tales."

"I think the name of the band is just a reference to being drunk and passing out, you know, 'man down!' Or whatever," says John Biscuti, who plays bass in the band. "And that's a pretty good way to describe us -- drunkenness and fun."

The band's repertoire includes various disco, funk, '80s pop and television show themes picked out by band members Biscuti, Mike Parascandola, Tom Venditelli, and Brian Leonard. They'll be opening up for Feb. 15's main attraction: "Dog Sees God."

John, your quote isn't as bad as one I said for my school paper back in September '07...

You look pretty cool with that V63, by the way.

Maybe mine wasn't so bad after all. Thanks John. :D

They used a silly quote of mine, but really, it's true! We're just a cover band who loves to play, have fun doing it, and most importantly, gets drunk for free. Our bread and butter (and what keeps it interesting for me) is that we go far beyond the typical alternative/classic rock cover band thing - we love doing funk, disco, TV themes, and the grandoise stuff that pulls the birds, like songs from Grease and Paradise by the Dashboard Light.
