Okay, we are all set for a venue and a place to crash:

The cutoff date for reservations is 5/23/08 to get the group rate, but do check the website as you may actually get a better rate by disregarding the RIO!!! group rate! Very strange, indeed.

Studio Suite @ $129.00
One-Bedroom Suite @ $139.00
Two-Bedroom Suite @ $169.00

Tell them you are with RIO!!!.

Residence Inn has great suites with a kitchen and other amenities, plus a very nice continental breakfast. For those needing a bar, there is one right across the street.

There are a limited number of room being held but more could be made available as needed, so please book early.

I still need to hear from some of you on instrument count so if you can, please go to that thread and let me know what you intend to bring, thanks!

I'm in. Arrive Friday leave Sunday. Thanks Jeff, it was cheaper outside the room block. That's weird. Don't they like Rickenbackers there?

I thought that was strange, too. I am going to have to talk with them and see what can be done!

What are the actual Confluence days, Jeff? Saturday and Sunday?

Maybe it has something to do with the Ric price increase!

Saturday is the official confluence, with Sunday for Dim Sum! As much as it was fun having two days at POTR last April, my feeling was that the real energy and vibe was happening on Saturday with Sunday being a bit like a "we've been here already" sort of feeling.

I made our reservation. We'll be arriving on Friday afternoon and leaving on Sunday at some point...who knows when.
The regular rate for a Studio suite is $109. I don't know why they quoted Jeff $129 for a "group" rate. The woman on the phone I spoke to said that a reserved block of rooms may not necessarily be all together and could actually be scattered around the hotel. I booked a studio suite at the regular rate and was told I can change that at any point I assume up until the 5/23/08 deadline.

According to the web site the cheaper Studio Suite is 70 square feet larger and has the same furnishings as the more expensive 1 Bedroom Suite. Go figure...
