This is very sad news. Only 41. What a unique and stunning talent and a nice guy. I was blessed to have met him twice, once at his club on Spadina and once in Montreal. He always took time to chat with everybody, and he loved to talk gear.
Rest in peace Jeff, you'll be missed.

I knew Jeff a bit years ago. We both briefly went to the Humber College jazz program in Toronto, and later I would run into him on the local blues circuit. Once in school I picked him up to go to a party - there was no room in the cab of my pickup, so Jeff climbed in the open back of the truck with his acoustic and played and sang all the way there! A couple of years later my band at the time was recording a couple of demos and we asked Jeff to play guitar on them. He just came in, sat down and nailed them! I hadn't seen Jeff in over twenty years, but I am saddened by the loss of a great musician and a very nice guy.

This is very, very sad news indeed. An amazing talent and obviously just a great, down to earth guy who enjoyed his craft with no pretentions.
RIP Jeff.

Short life, bright light. Darker here without him.
