Turn Turn Turn "Short Cover" on Rickenbacker 360-12

Here's a quick one I threw out to You Tube. It's an abbreviated version of the Pete Seeger - Byrds classic "Turn Turn Turn". I used my 2000 model Rickenbacker 360-12 with Vintage Toasters running into a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4-10. -BC

Nice job Buddy. Any chance you could post an MP3 ?
Did you use any Compressor or is that the natural Jangle ?
I like your intro photo-effects too, with the two Ricks side by side.

Thanks! Actually...I don't have an mp3 of this cover because it is directly off of the video camera. I don't know if this could be converted to an mp3 or not?...maybe so I'll have to look into it. I didn't mic anything, or take any special precautions to record it because it was for You Tube...LOL It was a quick sit down, turn on the camera, plug in and play the guitar kind of thing. My Rickenbacker 360-12 has a lot of natural resonance and jangle on its own but I did compress the guitar a little. I have many other video covers on You Tube and I used the Rickenabackers on quite a few of them. Ultimately, I'll post some of my originals on there as I get the time. Right now I'm just having a little fun doing some of my favorite covers. Thanks for listening! -BC

Very well done Buddy. You play guitar with the ease and confidence of a professional. I am very impressed.

You mean I'm not a professional?! Actually, I originally was a drummer who picked up the guitar around 18 years old out of boredom with the drums. I occasionally play out and about but that is very rare these days because where I live, there just aren't many people to play with and I stay very busy. I play be ear...so my interpretations are sometimes less than accurate. Often I will fuse two or three different guitar parts because when I do play live I usually play Lead and Rhythm guitar on each song. It's all in fun... Thanks for watching! -BC

You could very well be a pro but just in case you did not realize it, you just fell into my trap to mine more information from you. Just kidding......or am I?

I am always looking to uncover the person behind the obvious talent on this forum. I have my reasons of course. See my spotlight on series in "It's Only Rock 'N Roll".

Great stuff. Keep on Rockin'.

Thanks Brian! Actually, I am pretty easy to find out about if anyone is interested. Google Search...You Tube...etc. By the way, I listen to some of your originals and they are great. I am going to finish up some of my ideas and post a few eventually. My biggest problem is finding the time to get things done properly and that is a source of frustration for me. -BC

Hi Brian,

I got the PM and I will agree to do the series if it is what I think it is. I tried to send you a PM but I must be doing something wrong because it would not go through! :) You can e-mail me directly at [email protected] if you wish. -BC
