The Tuxedo is one of 3 special 4003 models that were made with painted maple fingerboards. There are 125 (some say 120) Tuxedeos that were produced in three separate runs of 100, 20, and 5 (or that could have been 100, 15, and 5). Anyway there were at least 120 produced. They are standard Rickenbacker white and conversion varnish over a special all-maple 4003S. The neck inlays are actually black side dot material as they are on the Redneck. The Blackstar is essentially the same bass but has white dots and a chrome pickup cover and neck pickup bezel.

Ted, on a double post, you can delete it. Where it says Quote, Edit, X, !, the X allows you to delete it.

I got there too late! Thanks for the tip. You know, I tested this software (PHPBB) a few years ago for use on a project that never got the go-ahead. It is truly a fine bit of code (open source) but I unfortunately never learned it well enough to actually use it. I build a lot of systems with free and open source software. Amazing things can be done with it for little or no money. I am not the least bit surprised Peter made the jump . Of course the forum software (Discussware) ran on Linux back in the old days. Free software does not get much better than that! Peter made an even bigger jump with the hosting. The server used to be located in New Brunswick and now it seems to be somewhere in Deutschland these days.
