Austin rules.
What a fun and long day. We got in line at 9:30Am and there were about 20 people ahead of us. To get in you either had to have an SxSW badge or be on the RSVP list, which we were. They received over 5000 RSVPs and the place only holds 2200, so it was first come, first served.
Enslaved went on first and the place was only about half full with the line wrapping around 2 blocks to get in. They were only given time for about 5 songs. They sounded alright.
Napalm Death came on next and played a bit longer, total old school British thrash. Not too shabby live.
High on Fire came on next and were really really good.
Then on comes Motorhead right around 3PM. They opened with Dr Rock and went on to play Going to Brazil, In the Name of Tragedy, Killed By Death, Rosalie (Bob Seger/Thin Lizzy), Metropolis, Ace of Spades, Overkill and a few others. They sounded great.
We waited around back for them to come out but after 45 minutes, we just couldn't take it any longer so we left. His sound man told me which titty bar they'll be in tonight so we'll go there.
In between sets, Igor Cavalera was DJing some techno stuff.
Fun day with great friends and ever better it was FREE!
