A vintage guitar shop here in England are having manufactured a reproduction of George's Hamburg era Resonet Futurama, limited to a run of 100 c/w certificate and other case candy. Further information posted on that well known auction site -http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BEATLES-GEORGE-HA ... 0033043351

I think I had better start saving now, although I hope they play better than the original!

£1799?????? $3,600?????? What are they, NUTS? Its not like it was all that great a guitar to begin with. One of the happiest Beatle days George had was when he got he "first really good guitar" (the Gretsch Duo Jet) and was able to ditch (give away) the Futurama.

But I guess if you have money to burn, what the hell.

That's as much as the Hofner Club 40 that NCM has available. That's too much for a Hofner so it certainly is too much for this.

Yeah, of all George's guitars, this would be at the bottom of the list. I think the DuoJet and Tennessean are two of his coolest guitars..

Looks dreadful, just like the original. I agree that George was probably pretty happy when he got rid of the Futurama for the Gretsch, similar to when John got his 325. At least the Hofner Club 40 looks classy

I agree with you on this...outside of his first 360/12. I enjoy my Duo-Jet and Tennessean much more than my Country Gent. I don't think that I could ever justify buying a Futurama.
