Very nice! I like the older full-size 'guard. And the great relic job on the body should add $1000 to the value of the bass!

Good job, Zack!
I just made a new guard tracing for my 4000 so I can add a toaster up front.

Zack, is that a V63/C64 bridge on there? Or did you cut that tooth yourself?
Nice-looking 4000, especially with the longer 'guard (which they should never have discontinued in the first place - it looks so much cooler).

So Kev, the 69 is getting toasted into a 4001?

Ye

I have to figure out what to do for a toaster though. The new scatterwound that I got is too deep. The long magnets hit the bottom of the pick-up cavity.
I need a short pole toaster, or swap this toaster with the one in my '71.

It's tough finding those "shorties". Took me forever to find one....

That's not good news.
"or swap this toaster with the one in my '71." I'm assuming that the '71 will accept a long magnet toaster.
The '72 I had, had long poles.

My Dec 71 had the short/recessed poles as well Kev, but I can't remember how deep the cavity was...

that is actually a faker tail-piece that i cut the slot into and a genuine ric bridge. i couldn't bring myself to modify the original tail-piece.
